Panelology is a weekly podcast about comics. We talk about current books, what we're looking forward to, and how to get into reading comics in the first place.

The Woods: New London (BOOM! Studios, 2015; #9-12)

Newsflash:  I still love The Woods.

  • “New London” gives a bigger picture of this alien world, but there are still a lot of questions to be answered.
  • Also, not at all like the real world, existing ruling classes like to marginalize and subjugate young people to consolidate their own power and prevent newcomers from rising up to take their own slice of the pie.
  • Now with dragons!
  • Also, things get bloody.

You really ought to be reading The Woods if you aren’t already.  It’s a masterclass in how to establish and evolve relationships between characters.  And it’s beautiful.  And weird.
